SUMMARY:Webinar: Introduction to the BC Living Lab
DESCRIPTION:The BC Living Lab is a collaborative project being undertaken by the Investment Agriculture Foundation (IAF) in partnership with nine commodity groups from the Cariboo to the South Coast of British Columbia. Supported through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Agricultural Climate Solutions program\, the BC Living Lab will be integrating scientific research into farming operations to test and co-develop practices that work for BC farmers and can contribute to climate change mitigation. \nOver the last year\, industry partners have been working with producers to identify practices with climate change mitigation potential that farmers would like to trial and evaluate. From cover crops to nutrient management\, many of the identified practices have the potential to offer farmers additional benefits—from improving soil health to lowering input costs. \nJoin the Intro to the BC Living Lab webinar to learn more about this multi-year research and extension project. Hear from participating producer organizations about the Beneficial Management Practices they will be trialing over the next four years\, research goals\, and ways to get involved. \nProject partners \nProject partners include the BC Cattlemen’s Association\, BC Forage Council\, BC Potato & Vegetable Growers’ Association & Delta Farmland & Wildlife Trust\, BC Blueberry Council\, Raspberry Industry Development Council\, BC Hazelnut Growers’ Association\, BC Fruit Growers’ Association and the BC Cherry Association. \nWhen & Where: \nFebruary 21\, 2023 \n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nRegister: \nIntro to the BC Living Lab Tickets\, Tue\, 21 Feb 2023 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite \n
